The Legacy of the NAACP
Founded in 1909 in response to the ongoing violence against Black people around the country, the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) is the largest and most pre-eminent civil rights organization in the nation.
We have over 2,200 units and branches across the nation, along with well over 2M activists. Our mission is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

September 2026 General Membership Meeting

The Macomb County Branch NAACP invites our members to join us for our September General Membership Meeting.
Our monthly membership meetings are an opportunity to learn about the work of the Branch, receive updates from our leadership and committees, discuss issues affecting our communities, and discover meaningful ways to become more involved in advancing the mission of the NAACP throughout Macomb County.
As we enter a busy fall season, we will share important updates about upcoming Branch activities and initiatives, including our 2026 Annual Freedom Fund Luncheon, civic engagement efforts, committee work, and opportunities for members to volunteer and serve.
We believe a strong Branch begins with an informed, engaged, and active membership. Whether you have been a member for years, recently joined the Macomb County Branch NAACP, or a community member interested in joining our branch, we encourage you to attend, bring your ideas, ask questions, and find a place to use your talents in service to our community.
